Post-Punk Monk The twin guitars of Dave Thompson with Baz Warne leaned hard into soaring widescreen melody with Thompson giving up the cinematic textural chords as Warne brought it home with the vivid solo in the climax. about

Hi, this is the radio edit of our latest single "So Far Away", which features the fantastic guitar playing of Mr Baz Warne, who plays in a band that starts "The S" and finishes with "tranglers." A reflection on life, radar screens and tightrope walking, the song is our idea of a widescreen post-punk epic. The accompanying video at youtu.be/5M0s3OsCrPc does not feature a speeded up cloudscape, but it probably should do. Although I'm sure this isn't particularly environmentally friendly,
we find it's a great driving song too!

lyrics

I see a radar pulse on a screen
I don't know where it is but I think it's me
And where it's headed I cannot say
Over so many hills and so far away.

Do you run for your life or are you run out of town?
When you walk a tightrope you'd better not look down
That's another story for another day
When you're over so many hills and so far away.

See the children grow so fast; I hope they learn
Don't look back over their shoulder when it's their turn
It is inevitable, there'll come a day
When they're over so many hills and so far away.

Only change is constant, there can be no doubt
You're not the same man as the boy who started out
How much time is left to us? It's hard to say
When you're over so many hills and oh so far away.
